What first comes to mind when you think of Alabama? What events or personal convictions have shaped those thoughts? What is your opinion of Alabamians?

At first I thought red-necks, and cheap place. Then I moved there for a year. There are beautiful parts and run down parts (as all states have). The people there are very friendly. I really like Alabama now that I have been there.

As a resident of the state it s a pretty good place to live.I have lived in Texas and Florida and have vesited 15 or so states, my wife was born in California, and I've always come home to Alabama.
Cause remember "The Stars Fell On Alabama"

Anyone who has seen the Chinpokomon episode of South Park will know what I mean when I say "Alabama Man".
Seriously though, the people there are nice, but they do tend to rank low in the state rankings on education and high on things like infant mortality.

I live in Huntsville (Alabama), which contains the second largest reasearch park in the nation (second to San Jose I believe). We have the NASA Marshall space flight center, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and many other big Defense contractors have facilities here. I just want to let you know that Alabama isn't all dumb rednecks.

I live in Montgomery,Alabama. On t.v. and movies ppl keep saying the South is country or full of ppl with no education.I can tell you that its ghetto, and crunked.We may not have as much money as the states up north,but we still do good.

i attend troy university which is in troy, alabama and i think alabama is a quiet little place!
