With the "track record" this administration has I'd bet money on the Democrats taking over in 2009. They are going to do take back a lot of seats in the congress this year too.

Republican or Democrat? Who knows, the midterm elections may give some indication. Iraq? The US will occupy it for the next 10 to 20 years in order to keep Iraq's neighbors from capatilizing on the chaos. Hopefully encourage the Iraq government to implement sound fiscal policies, respect for the rule of law and secure personal property and ownership policies, along the model of post WW2 Japan.
Conversely, the US flees, ala Vietnam, and the entire region goes up in flames, fuel when you can get it will be 10.00 a gallon and war and destruction in the region into the forseeable future.

I'll bet that if the next president is a Democrat, they will carry on with what Bush is doing.
Most Democrat politicians approve and fund Bush in Iraq.
The Democrats are just Playing Politics for the votes of the uninformed and gullible.
Hillary & Lieberman have guts enough to stand up and support Bush. And that's what they are doing.

Im not really sure if it will be a republican or Democrat, depends whos running. If Hillary decides to run then Republicans will run the house and be president only because theres no chance for her and the south hates her.

We cant just leave Iraq its to late for that, and we have to do what we can and get the job done if possible
