Slip fielders are further away and the ball would have slowed down more by the time it reaches them causing less pain and less chance of a fracture. Also the slips only get the ball off an edge which is rare now.

Wicket keeper has to face direct impact of the balls bowled by the batsman if the same passes through the batsman, whereas the slip fielders have not to handle the balls with such impact as mostly the balls reaches them either touching the batch or touching the ground. Hence wicket keeper is mofre prone to injustries as compared to slip fielders. That is the reason why wicket keepers are fullhy protected with gloves and pads

Being a cricket widow I know this one..... the wicket keeper needs gloves to protect his hands as he has to catch the ball a lot more than the slip fielders.
The ball is also travelling slower after being hit by the bat.
The wicket keeper is more exposed to a direct hit than the other fielders.

Rules of cricket only allow the wicket keeper to use equipment to help him to catch the ball. Some fielders wear pads, though under their trousers, and all close in fielders wear a "box".

Keepers have to take the full impact of the ball. But slip fielders get the ball after a slight slowing down(after touching the bat). Also, most of the balls go to the keeper than the slip fielders

Only one fielder is allowed to wear gloves. As the wicky catches the ball more than anyone else he gets it. The pads offer protection from being hit by a ball coming at you fast. This danger is only significant for the keeper (and silly fielders, who also wear pads)

its mostly coz of the frequency with whihc he has 2 catch the ball during the match...moreover...most of the throws have 2 b recieved by him...the reason y he wears glove n slip fielders dont..is again the frequency of ball goin 2 slip fielders is less and also that the ball travels straighter and faster to the keeper...the angle of the ball if u have read physics, makes the speed of the ball to the keeper faster...while when the angle is reducd...the speed is lower 2 the slip fielder!!

They are very difficult to say. Not sure but think it has something to do with the ball being very hard and wicket keeper (apart from batter) being closest to the ball when it has left the bowler's hands.

Also the wicky is not really regarded as an outfielder ...so therefore will not have to run about so much.
The ball can {and does} go straight to him from the bowler at up to 90 mph, whereas the slips will be fielding a deflected ball at up to maybe 55mph.
