Sentence B contains an unnecessary word.
B. The snake raised up its head and struck.
The word 'up' is unnecessary, because to raise means to move upward.

B. The snake raised its head and struck. This is a correct sentence.

B- you do not need the word "up."
you can simply say, "The snake raised its head and struck."

Note- statement C is incorrectly structured. You should never end a sentence with a preposition (to).

B & D. The word "up" in (B) and the word "he" in (D).

"Up" for the reasons mentioned above, and "he" because Rich concealed "his" feelings, "he" is unnecessary.

I agree with everyone else, B...however, the preposition at the end of the sentence responce is correct. That sentence is backwards.
