Euro - Our identity isn't defined by what currency we use. Are u that insecure as a nation which is why u seem to be all clingin on to the £? The euro is worth less, therefore things will seem much cheaper, also travelling will be much more convenient.
The vast majority of Europe seem to of made the transition quite easy, so why does the UK have to be so special? We are just as part of Europe aswell.

I think the identity of Britain is safe whatever the currency (afterall we can still distinguish between cheese eating surrender monkeys and the marauding Hun).
Economically I think there are good reasons to keep the pound due to the great diversity in the economic strengths of the euro member countries

Lets go European... we can have the Euro, change the side of the road we drive on, no longer adhere to any European laws, have a nap in the afternoon for a couple of hours. We could also go around stinking of garlic and not washing. And, we can have many more public holidays and in-fact turn into a lazy work-shy nation where other countries pay for our upkeep.... what are we waiting for!

While it would be very convenient to go to France for holdiays without changing currency, and easier for multinational business, I think it is better that the Bank of England sets interest rates for the UK rather than trying to fit in with the Euro which has to meet the needs of countries with strong economies and others with weak economies. So, no stick with the pound

I guess that if maintaining your identity is so very much related to your currency then you are unable to adopt to any monetary and political integration that the European vision requires.
Have it your way, go for your valuable pound...

I'm from the US and the dollar to euro exchange rate is much better than dollar to pound so of course i like euros better.
but i guess if this was a question about my own country, stick with your identity.

Keep the pound. Call me a traditionalist but I'm not really into switching to the euro. No really valid reasons except that I don't want to.
