First, put the pants into the freezer for a couple hours to freeze the wax. Next, take a butter knife and scrape and lift the wax off till you have removed as much as possible.
Next step: The iron. Turn the iron on to as hot as the pants will allow. Lay several layers of paper towel inside your slacks to be directly under the fabric where the wax is. Next lay one layer of paper towel on top of the remaining wax. Lay the iron down on the paper towel for 5 seconds. Lift straight up and see the wax stain on the paper towel. Keep shifting the paper towel and pressing the hot iron till you can lift no more wax out.
Next, launder as usual.
Remember, some waxes are made with oils and may leave an oily stain even after the wax has gone.
Good luck.

I make candles and I've spilled candle wax in the process so I think I can help you here. What I do to remove dried candle wax is to heat an iron to medium heat (or what ever temp your fabric can tolerate) and place a thin towel (something you can discard) over the wax and press the towel with the heated iron. This will melt the wax off of your pants., onto the towel. If the wax is dyed, some of the dye from the wax could remain. Use Shout or another stain remover to get this out. You might need to repeat the process if it doesn't all melt off the first try. Hope this helps!

First of all put some newspaper inside the leg of the pants to stop the wax bleeding through to the back of the leg. Now lay the pants on a table or ironing board. Cover the pants with some really absorbent paper like kitchen roll or blotting paper. Now press on the paper with a really hot iron and the wax should melt and be absorbed by the paper. You may need to do this several times, changing the kitchen roll each time to get all of the wax out. If possible, when all or most of the wax has been removed, wash in really hot water.

Take the article of clothing place it on an ironing board of a flat hard surface, heat up your iron, place 1-2 paper towels on the wax and iron it. The heat will melt the wax and the paper towel will soak up the melted wax.
