Gay people shouldn't want to be gay.
This just encourages their Genetic flaw into something other than what it really is.
But other than this I don't see the problem.
Except that Marriage is a Religious thing.
But If our Government want to give gay couples a different label to signify their commitment to one another so be it, I have no problem with this.

Of course. Black marriage is legal. Handicaped marriage is legal.
Who is going to be harmed by discontinueing the discrimination against Homosexual couples? Is it going to affect the steller 50% failure rate the Heteros have ben enjoying?
If you want to make something illegal, make marriage illegal. It's 50% failure rate is the cause of more pain than any two homos trying to get decent insurance rates.
Marriage should be a mutual contract written up with an attourney between two people and it should be addressed fiscaly (yearly), so, new financial agreements can be made. If it gets to where the two cant agree, then they split ways underr the terms of thier current agreement. Marriage, on the other hand, is fueling the legal profession by its garunteed failure, and all the complications that arise.
Marriage is a scam. It's a religous, government, well marketed scam. Like the tobaco company. Yhats why more peole are waiting or not doing it. Gays, just dont want to be excluded, or discriminated against. Seems fair. If the want the agony, let them give it a shot.
By the way,,,, I'm happily married in public, to my beautifull wife, but, privately, we arent legaly married, because we know its a sca to involve the church and the government. We make our own agreements financialy, and we'll handle our disolution of our relationship if it ever comes to pass. 10 years and counting. We're madly in love, not religous, and the government can kiss our asses. Lawyers too.

Gay Marriages should be legal. The government should is not supposed to distinguish between sexes and not involve religion. Marriage in the eyes of the legal system is the union of two people. Religious beliefs state man and woman but as I stated before religion should have no influence on legal definition of marriage as seen by the government. And since the government states that the is no line between man and woman than a union of two people can involve a man/man or woman/woman combination.

I don't understand why the states are in the marriage business anyway. Last time I checked, marriage was a sacrament? Anyway, I think that anyone should be able to file domestic partnerships/civil commitments with the state, and no one should be able to file a marriage. If you want the sacrament, find a church or other religious body who will grant it to you.

Oh, and I'm straight, but married civilly by a justice of the peace.

Marriage is a legal contract sanctioned by the state. All citizens should be equal under the law and have equal access to the government.

i do !!!! commitment is a scarce commodity in this world.whenever 2 people swear to love, respect and support each other, its a positive thing.i married my husband nearly 2 years ago,and have never been happier.i wish the same happiness for all !!!!ps-gay marriage doesnt destroy the institution of marriage,it adds to the marriages that are already here !!!!!

Of course they should. Gay & lesbians are human beings that deserve the same rights as anyone else. I think people will look back on this in 10 or 20 years and compare it to how we treated the rights of women and African-Americans in reference to voting and segregation.

i do. there is simply no good reason why they shouldn't be legal. all the rhetoric about "destroying the institution of marriage" is a bunch of nonsense thrown up because opponents of gay marriage have no concrete arguments. If there is no good reason to deny a freedom, then that freedom shouldn't be denied.
