my friend's sons receive child support and will until they reach 19.
The law changed in 1998. The prior law expected the paying parent to pay child support until the child reached 21 yrs old. If your dad got divorced after 1998 he only has to pay till that girl is 19. I feel sorry for you guys tho :(

The previous answers are correct, the agreement for child support may specify that the payments continue past age 18, and that would explain why they have not stopped. Sometimes child support goes until the child graduates or drops out of high school or until they are through college. Only your father's specific court papers will show you when the child support ends.

Call up the Family Support Registry at 1-800-374-6558 and ask them. You'll need the FSR account number and, unless you're the one making or receiving the payments, you may not get an answer from them.

I know someone in CO making payments under similar circumstances and he must continue to pay until his daughter reaches the age of 19.
