Please! He is just avoiding making a commitment by using a politically charged statement to get the attention off of himself. Either you want to get married or you don't. End of story. Don't bring politics into it!

I think it is a sorry excuse for them two not to get married. They are happy being a weird little celebrity couple. Their relationship probably won't last so they don't want to get married and then spend a lot of money on divorce. And they think that the government is going to change the law just so they can get married? The government doesn't give a damn about Brangelina! They need to stop being so egocentric!

He just knows SHE will never marry him so he is protecting his ego/pride by making that declaration so others won't laugh at him for leaving Jen for someone who doesn't want that type of formal committment.

Strange reason but I agree with the whole "everybody should be able to get married" so good for them :) Don't know if it'll make things for faster but it's nice to know that they feel that way I guess.
