Our family will be staying at Disney for a week and we would like to visit Universal Studios for one day. Does anyone know if there is a shuttle that we could take to Universal Studios or do we have to rent a car for one day to go there?

Yeah, like others have suggested, Mears shuttle service will take you from Walt Disney World to Universal Studios. Here's the link to the website...

Have fun at Walt Disney World!

Heidi- Hun, the question is categorized under Orlando, so I'm pretty sure they're talking about Florida.

I don't want to disagree with Robin, but I would recommend that you call Universal's Guest Relations department and make the ask. There are shuttle buses, but most cost money. And, make sure if you are going to walk, that you exit the bus or trolley at the far North end of I drive, or instead of a 1 mile walk, you could have a 12 mile walk. While we have always stayed at Disney, we always rent a cheap car because there is so much more to see and do while in the area. If you rent something off-airport, than you don't have to pay the upwards of 1/3 more just in taxes and fees that are tacked onto your airport rentals. I would highly recommend that you do this, as most 1 week rentals are about the same price as taking a round trip cab from Disney to Universal and back.. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

I would suggest Bethany Transport. They are a local, very professional company that will pick you up and drop you off anywhere you request. It is not a taxi service. You call to schedule where you want to go and they will be there. They also have a variety of cars and vans that will cater to the size of your party.

Their number is 407-239-8111. Ask for Goldie, she's great!!

You could also try Mears. They are the company that manages the Disney Transportation (all of the buses for the parks, Disney Cruiseline and airport shuttle). They are always on property, but Bethany is probably cheaper.

Don't rent a car for the day, not worth it. It is only 10 miles from Disney to Universal. Really direct route on I-4 (Disney is exit 64 (depending on which exit you get on/off from) Universal is exit 74).

I agree with most, take the MEARS shuttle, it will be cheaper than a taxi or renting a car.

Have you considered staying overnight (2 days would be best) at Universal? Finish your stay at WDW and take a day or two and stay at Universal.

I know it is more money but believe me it is worth it. By staying in a Universal hotel your on the back door of the 2 parks and you get free transportation to and from the hotel. Plus your hotel key is your speed pass.

Contact Universal Studios travel and you can get some great deals on a 2 day stay. If your using a travel agent take that quote to them and they usually can either beat the offer or offer you incentives to go with them.

Call Mears, they offer shuttle service between mayor attractions & the airport. DON'T TAKE A CAB!!!!

I recommend you do rent a car. Driving distances are great in Central Florida and you'll miss out on a lot of stuff if you only stay in Disney and rely on shuttle service.

Mears will help you out. We often stay at Disney but spend some time at Universal. This year, we stayed at Universal for the days we wanted to visit there and then stayed at Disney when we wanted to visit Disney. It was well worth the time and money. Staying at Universal gives you the Universal Express pass that gets you to the front of the line EVERY time. Even if you stay only one night, it is worth it. I would consider staying one night, spending two days at Universal if you like to ride roller coasters.... and then transferring to Disney that evening getting ready for Disney the next day.

Call mears transportation. They provide shuttles, buses, limos, and cabs all over the theme parks and Orlando.

Are you talking about Florida, or California? In California, the two parks are 35 miles apart.
