I stopped participating in Christmas years ago because it is so commercial. Also, it is not even when Jesus was born according to scholars. It was, like many Christian holidays, chosen to be at a certain time to cover up pagan holidays even though many of the pagan symbols still remain. It stresses me out and makes me so angry. People with little money feel like failures if they can't provide their children with a lot of junk. I don't think Jesus would like Christmas.

I don't know why it has to be, but I detest it because of the fact that it is very commercial. The bridge from Thanksgiving to Christmas is very overwhelming to for me. It creates alot of anxiety for me and that is the only time of year that I only smoke cigarettes. People are so wrapped up in the holiday's that it shy's away from what the holiday is really about, the birth of Jesus Christ and it is symbolic for the gift of giving.

When one thinks about it, Christmas was always commercial. The very first Christmas was commercial. The baby Jesus was only born and the three wise men burst into the stable saying "I got ya this!" Trying to out do each other.I think the sad thing is we all give each other gifts at Xmas & yet if Jesus was to walk into your house that day saying who he is, you wouldn't beleive him, call him mental & tell him to leave!

Most of the people in this world are Christians. It would make sense if most of the commercialism came from Christians. Do the math!

commercial? because since there are so many christians who celebrate it, businessmen use the holiday to their advantage. some eventually forget that it's Jesus' birthday and treat it as...a time to relax and do other things while the real reason remains a hidden priority among other things.
