You know what the right thing to do is, don't you, sweetie? Don't listen to the voice of temptation.

Place the ad. If you do keep it with out placing one wouldn't you feel a little guilty? Imagine if you lost a Diamond ring, wouldn't you like it if someone returned it to you? Pulse if no one claim es it with in 2 months you can keep it. But you better watch out some people will lie just to get the ring, so make them explain what it looks like or if it has any engravings in it.

I know I have a very large diamond ring that my grandmother gave to me when she passed. It is the only thing of hers I have left. I would be devestated if I lost it!
It is a nice ring and I am sure many people would want it :( but I do hope someone would try to return it to me.
Although it is just a material object it does have a lot sentimental value to me. Who knows this ring could be a heirloom, or a wedding ring. If your lucky maybe it was a women who was sick of her husband/boyfriend and didn't want anything to do with him, if that was the case I would say keep it...but in the other two situations you should try to return it.
You know the golden rule "Do to others as you would have them do unto to you." , Karma ...etc
If you lost something like that wouldn't you want it returned to you?

Of course, it's the right thing to do. I think your conscience would agree with me too. If you lost an expensive ring, wouldn't you want someone to return it to you? It might be somebody's wedding ring or a special ring that's been passed down for generations. You probably should report it to police or something, becuase putting signs up for it might trigger some robbers. Maybe you can take it to a jewelery store and ask how much they estimate it's probably worth. When someone comes to get it, then tell them you wanted to keep it but couldn't bear the thought of somebody losing it so ask maybe for some reward money? But.. I think if someone doesn't claim it for a really long time it's yours soo yeah. (not too sure about the last sentence tho). kk return it asap!!!

I think you should advertise it in the lost and found. Don't give too much detail away obviously - just say ring found and the area & date you found it. Yes it would be lovely to keep it but one day you may be engaged with a ring that your man has saved for three years to buy and then see how you would feel.
Please give it up, you know morally it is wrong to keep it.

Wow.
I wouldn't place a "found" ad for a pricey diamond ring. It's not like a lost pet-- there is no way that you can distinguish the true owner. If you do place a "found" ad, you will almost DEFINITELY give it away to someone who just wants it and didn't lose it.
I'd see if there were any ads around town for a lost ring. Just hold on to it for now or consult the police dept. or something and they can do their best to be sure it gets to the rightful owner if possible.
Good luck!

Actually, I would turn it into the police. An ad for it in the paper can put you in more of a situation than you are already in; one that you do not want to be in. Most times, people will go to the police when something like that is missing/lost.

You know the answer, my dear. Besides, if you do keep it, chances are that you will lose it or someone will take it. If it was meant to be yours, it will be. Maybe nobody will claim it. HMMMM...how big is the diamond, anyway? No, no, no...place the ad. Place the ad. Karma's a b.

Place the ad. Make sure you don´´t give a description and only give a city that it was found in. You are going to need to make sure who ever responds is the person who really lost it. (Some guy could have saved for 5 years to give that to his fiance or wife...and she is probably feeling horrible that she lost it)

Well, I found a cell phone about a year ago. I called one of the numbers on it that said 'Mom' to find out who it belonged to and where they lived. 'Mom' treated me like a thief, demanding my name and address. She told me where the guy worked that owned it, I returned it, and he acted very ungrateful. If I find another, I'll throw it in the river or stomp on it until it's dead.
