try to use one of the products of Xilisoft converters (www.xilisoft)...
if still there is no program that you can find, try to find out the extension of your REAL player files and type in the search engine the following:
REAL to AVI converter download
... where REAL is the extension of the file you are trying to convert. (to find out the extension of the file, go to TOOLS> FOLDER OPTIONS in windows explorer, click VIEW and uncheck "Hide extension of know file types"... don't forget to revert it when you're done.. it's a pretty messy view of files if it is left unchecked!)

Play real player sound files. Record them as mp3.

First you need the codecs. Try K-lite mega codec pack from here...
