My very best friend in the Armed Forces didn't start her period until after her first sexual experience at 19. The doctor just kept on telling her that she was just a "late bloomer".
Well, did she bloom! Within a couple of months she went from a flat chested 34A to a large 38C. And her body went from slim and boyish, to a more square athletic build. She was 5'10" and 125 lbs, and went to 160 lbs and fighting not to get fat!

I'm a medical transcriptionist and I recently typed on a woman who didn't start her period until she was 18. It's probably a good idea to go to the doctor to make sure everything is okay, but I don't think you have a thing to worry about. Everyone's internal plumbing is different.

It may be a genetic condition dealing with your sex chromosomes. This is a typical symptom in women with turners (single X chromosome) so tell your doctor you want a karyotyping done if there are no obvious medical reasons for your condition. Do Not let him/her blow you off!!

WOW! Maybe you shouldn't worry about it. Consider yourself lucky. I have had mine since I was12. Consider seeing a OBGYN.
