They should form an orderly queue behind the blacks who are living in outright destitution in the same country in far bigger numbers. Whites in that country voted for and sustained a system which enslaved and degraded the vast majority of the population for decades so can hardly be resentful now if they have to endure the same difficulties that blacks have always had. Bear in mind that there has been no drastic change to the structure of the economy to help blacks bar the odd affirmative action scheme.
I do feel a little bit of sympathy for some of these people as the real culprits, the whites who orchestrated apartheid from the highest levels of government, the economy and media, have mostly not been called to account for their actions and continue to make a good living profiting from the misery of others. If we had to take any white South Africans I'd rather take the 'white trash' elements who may be struggling, however insulting their morals are, than the one who got wealthy on the back of apartheid and left the country en masse a decade ago.

If the question had been about destitute South Africans in general I might have agreed but, you have specified whites. Millions are suffering in Africa and all deserve compassion. White South Africans are not there because their ancestors went to help the native population. They are there because their ancestors went to exploit the native population. They took from the country and gave nothing back. They lived the good life while surrounded by poverty, they introduced apartheid which denied fellow human beings a human existence. No one should be allowed to rot in an aids infested toilet but to actually say that those who were instrumental in creating that toilet are more worthy than the rest is incomprehensible.

The UK is swamped with asylum seekers as it is.
I'm not saying they shouldn't be given asylum but they can't just all come to the UK because we do NOT have the homes or jobs for them. There are plenty of people already here who are struggling to find somewhere to live and to pay the bills without adding to our population.
Aus and America should take some of them. They are much bigger than the UK so have more room.

Of course not. Did they not choose to move the South Africa for the natural resources and to get rich quick? Did they not disrupt the way of life of the people already living there, making the diamond industry global and encourage labor from all over the southern part of the continent to come work in the mines for extended periods of time? This is one of the causes of the spread of HIV all over the region. Workers would migrate to work, have their sexual needs met, then carry infections back home. White South Africans erected the institution of apartheid. They still hold most of the wealth. I absolutely zero pity for them. They've made their beds, now they should lie in them.

convinced! surely! i imagine. In Canada, in case you bypass there and tell them you're undesirable and mistreated in South Africa, and submit records exhibiting that ,say, you studied and nevertheless can't get artwork, or practice you're treated unfairly, i trust they're going to settle for you as a refugee. see you later as you've evidence. i imagine, having an practise and being unemployed and with this new regulation, BEE, many countries might want to settle for you with open hands...they are not stupid. They know what's going on. Canada seems after it truly is voters and everyone Else's... that's a shame that they are forced out of their loved united states in spite of the reality that... sturdy question! The South Africans might want to objective this, All Migrate to a distinct united states and declare refugee status, the U.N. might want to instantly ahead, ask your self what's honestly taking position in South Africa...And Investigations might want to initiate!!

Yes, they should be allowed to come home. All the whites and Asians are being systematically kicked out of Africa, just wait and see what happens. Look what happened to Rhodesia now Zimbabwe, the PC brigade dare not say the obvious.

well... doesn't this question just reek of racism? funny thing is, you probably weren't offering asylum to black individuals during Apartheid even though the situation is now the same, only reversed. why don't you just mind your own business and let us proud South Africans worry about our 'aids infested toilet'... we wouldn't want you to have to get your hands dirty...

I couldn't help but notice the following paragraph: -
'Many of these people cannot accept the fact that now we are all equal and that means "white people must go as low as black people",' one member of staff tells me. 'Those who are willing to swallow their pride and work with blacks find it very humbling, humiliating. But there are too many who would choose to not work at all and watch their families suffer, rather than "stoop" to that.' Changing these people's mindsets, she says, is an almost impossible task: 'All they see is that everything is different now and they don't like it.'
I'm making no further comment.

Colour should not come into it.
But anyone who has trouble in their home country due to race or colour should be given asylum in Europe.
Otherwise we have learn't nothing!
