The first one is standard and has a v6/multiport fuel injection engine with a perfomance exhaust and muffler and a sunroof. The body is solid and it has 196km on it. No a/c and no pw and the seats could be replaced. Blue.

The Transmission in the second one is the TH-700 4-speed plus lock up [5-spd really](service at 67,000 kms). These trans are same as 'vette. Bulletproof. 5.0 L HO, I believe it is a V8, No body work, original paint and the interrior is supposedly in good shape (I will check it out today). PS,PB,PW,PL,PA,PT, AC auto orig. paint Red. It has 111km on it. Only thing I'm worried about here is the 5L V8 may be more than what I need. How much would it differ than the 2.8 V6 in terms of fuel consumption?

Which car would you go with? I'm doing mostly city driving, a lot of stop and go, not much highway.

C'mon. If you're looking for fuel economy and basic transportation, get a Honda Civic.

If you want a Firebird, get the 5.0L V8.

The 2.8 isn't much engine. I rebuilt the 6.6L in my 79 Trans Am next to a poor sap working on his Chevy S10. He had the 2.8 V6 and the engine block was laughable.

V6 - because of the gas situation, and since you are city driving - you won't need the extra 'omph' to pass anyone. And, insurance would be cheaper.

But, whichever you like is what should be the final decision. I always buy V8 Mustangs, even though I know I will pay more at the pump & for insurance. I like the sound of them, and the rare chance I get out where I can play a bit, it's such an adrenaline rush! Silly, but that's me.

The 2.8 is a MAJOR dog...car weighs way too much for it......and if you are planning on keeping it for a while the V-8 should actually someday be worth something..,,,and it will only be bad on gas if you don't keep your foot out of the carburetor....drive it sensibly and you should get about the same mileage out of it as the 6....and the V-6 will never be much of a collectable.

i think id go with the second one,it has more options on it,,and it sounds like the better deal,,i own a repair shop,,and have worked on similar cars like these,,the v-8,s give less trouble than the v-6,s do,,and if you have a choice,,why not take the second one,,the only thing you have to take in to consideration,,is the difference in the engines,,one will get a little more mileage than the other one will,,other than that,,the second one is a much better choice,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

V 6 for sure. Better fuel especially with alot of stop and go. Plus easier to get parts @ wrecking yard.

THE 2.8 IS A PIG. IT HAS TO WORK HARD TO GET THAT CAR MOVING. YOU WILL NOT NOTICE A DIFF IN MPG BETWEEN THESE CARS. MINE GOT 21 MPG BACK IN THE DAY AND THATS ABOUT WHAT THE 5.0 WILL GIVE YOU. GO WITH THE V-8

For power I'd take the second one. For saving cash I'd go with first one. Both sound sweet though, good luck in your selection.
