I think so. But you could start out getting her interested in reading first rather than a toy. By reading, she would understand things better. colors, animals things around her. there is the regular leapfrog and the like "toddler" version of leapfrog. My daughters have them and i didn't see them actually operate the toddler one until about 24 mos or so. i don't know if it has made them smarter but it has helped with concept of cause and effect, like when you touch pictures you hear a sound and so on. The regular leapfrog requires a little more concentration so i wouldn't expect to see that used by a child less than 3 yrs. You've made a good purchase but make sure to get games bought now so they won't change versions on you by the time she is old enough to use it!
