Because the media is a business that needs them to exist, so they are very good at making us care about people we do not know.

It's far easier to pick on and judge those we don't know and who can't confront us back than to confront those who may say things we don't like to hear, often the truth, from those we actually know. Celebrities know the risk they are running when they enter that world and they are easy targets while facing our own problems, inner demons with those we know and love is something most avoid at all costs.

Nothing really. Misery loves company.People tend to put celebs on a pedestal and do not take it well when they find out the humanness failings of their idols.Be the change. Peace.
