Cause Google has better searching syntax, better mail services and just better services in general such as Google Maps,Google Earth etc. I combine both Yahoo and Google.

Because people follow the herd. Its hot and its happening now. And it has a clean and simple main screen with no ads.
It will not continue forever, nor will Microsoft Windows but for now the herd is pointing towards Google and people are sheep.

it's way more simple, the home page has nothing but the search engine ... + i feel that it gives better results
