Why do some people have to 'share' their music?

To force anything onto someone else is not right. They must show off, and they show no respect for others around them.

If I like the music, it's all good. If I don't, yes I get irritated. People share their music to get attention or just because they don't give a flip if others like their music. I have been guilty of blasting my music if I'm in a great mood and I want my music to consume me. This is not often but it has happened and it will probably happen again.

One of my neighbors has a very loud, very badly vibration-proofed stereo in his truck and just can't come home from the bar at 1:30 AM without rattling every window in the apartment complex - and always stays in the truck until the song ends - that's kind of annoying - but in fairness I've been the uninvited "sharer" over the last few decades often enough that I've completely lost the right to complain - so I guess you can ignore my answer . . .

It depends on the type of music. If it's some Alice in Chains or Metallica and it's loud, that's ok. But if it's something I can't stand like any of those emo-butthole bands that are out now, I just want to rip my ears off and kick them down the street.

There is a time and a place for loud music. I was annoyed when I was at a memorial service for the fallen men and women who served as military and civilian police, it was an outdoor ceremony, and some guy had his rap music blaring over his stereo.

Due to the high volumes they play it at, this causes quick hearing loss. So they respond by turning the volume up more, due to this new and fast hearing loss. So really, it's not that they are sharing their music, it's because they are now 80% to 90% def, they have to have it up that loud.

Yes, unless it is my own music. I blast my own music when I want to hear it. And not loud enough to irritate others usually.
I hate hearing these thumped up basses in cars with mindless rap crap, its like a Moron Convention!

I rarely hear hard rock being blasted in cars too much anymore. Guess those kids grew up.

There is no such thing as loud music. If it is loud enough to annoy others then it is just noise & needs to be turned down or off.

Ohh , you meant someone ELSE blasting from a car or a window & into your ears? Ok. Yeah, then it's annoying.

Cause I was just blasting some System of a Down, Metallica & Silverchair in the headphones earlier....
