Who are they to judge the naming of the child? That is the parents right and responsibility before God.
If you know this mother tell her that God will back her descision and that she should keep the name of the child no matter what.
The child's grandmother is out of line. It is not her place to decide the name or interfere in the upbringing of the child unless the child is being victimised or abused.
As for everyone else, please! Shut up people! Who gave you the right to interfere? Who are you to speak in this matter? You are not the child's parent!
The law says that the parent is responsible for the child. Not the grandparents, not everyone else, the parent.
So people, stop doing this!
Please tell these people this if you know them.

Is she a matriarch by chance?
If so she may feel that her position as chief 'Mother' has been threatened and shes 'fighting' for her 'power.'
She is right, it has been threatened because you do not sound like a pushover!
Stand up to the old battle axe! Are 'everyone else' siblings and family members? Who's strings she likes to pull for her own pleasure? Ignore them because she sent them to influence you!
Yes it is the new Mums choice and this could be the first of many silly battles unless she stands VERY firm.
Its a power struggle and you have to win or be dominated. Sounds harsh but I have been through this too.
Avoid her for a while! Withdraw her grand child! You have all the power because you hold the baby! She will soon behave herself and when she is nice and respectful be nice back. Its like dealing with a naughty child. Give her time out to think about how unreasonable her behaviour is!

Do we all realize here that what we do affects not only us but those around us, as well? If this baby was given a horrid name such as Lucifer, that baby will grow up to be a problem to society, the same society we all live in. Yes, it is our concern. The welfare of all children has to be our concern.
Whether or not the grandparents are to "blame" does depend on whether the name is acceptable in our society and for the child. We shouldn't jump to conclusions without all of the facts.

OK, too much missing information here.
1 -- How old is the daughter, and is her mother going to have to help raise this child?
2 -- What is that name which people so object to?
If a mother is essentially going to be mother and grandmother to this child, then she should have something to say about the name.
If the name is really horrible and objectionable, then this daughter needs help naming this child. The child is going to suffer if he has a ridiculous name, so you have to think about HIS future feelings here, too.
So.... no further comment until you tell us how old the baby's mother is and what the name is.

I have the faint feeling that the parents might have a point, if the name is really horrible, there are enough people without any sense around who saddle their poor innocent children with godawful names. A friend of mine is called Zoraya Hepsebah, and I don't think she'll ever forgive her parents. She certainly wishes she'd had grandparents that were on her side!

all of us who says "you at the instant are not the perfect till you bypass to the WWE" is a f*cking fool. i can call a great form of wrestlers interior the worldwide no longer in WWE that are 10x extra effective than over a million/2 of the WWE roster surprising now. Austin Aries, Chris Hero, Davey Richards, KENTA, Kota Ibushi, Shingo, AJ types, Samoa Joe, Desmond Wolfe, Christopher Daniels, homicide, Mistico, Motor city device weapons, The Briscoes, youthful dollars/era Me, Dragon youngster, Colt Cabana, etc.. Can all of us actually say with a rapidly face say that the WWE roster is superb? Can all of us actually say that a roster with Sheamus, The Miz, great Khali, David Otunga, Vladimir Kozlov, Mark Henry, Hornswoggle, John Cena and Randy Orton is superb? i do no longer care in the event that they have Chris Jericho, facet and CM Punk, the WWE roster surprising now as an entire is particularly detrimental. WWE isn't the perfect promoting interior the worldwide and that i do no longer understand how all of us would desire to assert they're. WWE has a number of the worst wrestlers interior the worldwide surprising now (great Khali and Mark Henry are 2 examples). and to no longer point out the reality that WWE does not care relating to the midcard titles. it is a shame what the IC call, the Tag team titles, and the U.S. call have become over the final 5 years. they're particularly meaningless. WWE marks/fanboys supplies me as many thumbs down's as they elect yet i do no longer supply a sh*t. BQ: complicated to compliment considering the fact that they're all great tag communities, yet i think of i'm going to bypass with the The Briscoes.

Its totally pathetic, has the mother realised the daughter has grown up and is capable of making her own decisions now, it is absolutely nothing to do with her mother or anyone else what the daughter calls her child, did anyone tell the mother what to name her kids, doubt it.

I've been told stories of grandmothers who actually addressed their grandkids by the _wrong_ name, as an insult to the mother and as a way of asserting their control over the family. It's sick and it should not be tolerated.

How stupid. But then again if they called it something like Pigfart I can understand why there would be a bit of frustration on the mothers side.
