That really depends on what type of printer your talking about and what type of jam. I am a tech and would have helped you but without knowing what printer of where it is jamming it is impossible to assist you with your problem. Post another question more specific and if I see it I will answer it.

Remove the jammed paper carefully, and make sure you get all of it, don't leave little bits in the printer. When you close the printer, it may start automatically or you may have to press a go button to make it start again. If you are getting constant problems, go to the manufacturer's website or contact them to see if there is a fix for the problem.

In the paper tray, there are usually some rubber wheels that turn and pull the paper into the printer. If they get dusty or old and dried out they may slip and not grab the paper evenly. Try cleaning them, and look on the ream of paper to make sure you are putting the correct side of paper up or down according to the type of feed your printer has.

go online type in ur printer type like a dell 1700n and type paper jam after it on google and they will probably work ( it worked 4 me)
