i always like writing class essays in the form of a story. so since the guard isnt exactly one of the main characters, why dont you start your story with what the guard was doing prior to standing at the gate. twist up the story and make the guard do something that a guard never usually does. for example, you can say he was at a bar watching the football game with the other guards before the ball and the queen requested he be there to protect the gates. then just talk about what you know from the movie and how he had to protect it and how the guards kept looking at each other and snickering knowing how they were partying right before getting down to business. after, you can talk about what happens after the ball. it would be nice to include cinderella in it somehow since she is the main character.
hope this helps! i have my own essay to do too :D

Well, I can tell you the "real" story of Cinderella (I'll shorten it to make it easier)
Cinderella's mother dies and is buried on the property in the back yard. A tree grows over her grave and Cinderella goes to visit there daily. There are birds (turtledoves) that live in the tree and listen to Cinderella. They are essentially the "fairy god mother". They give her the dress and slippers. There are two stepsisters, but "their faces were fair and their hearts black" The ball is not only for 1 night but 3. Cinderella dances with the prince each night and escapes home, none the wiser (though her father, whose still alive, suspects) The third night she loses her little gold slipper (not glass). The Prince comes to the house and the step sisters feet are too big. Their mother tells the first girl "Cut off your toe" and she does and puts the shoe on. The Prince starts riding away with her and the birds tell him there is blood coming from the shoe and it's not his real bride. So he goes back and the second sister cuts off her heal and the same thing with the birds happens. The Prince asks the father if he has any other daughters and he says "There's just the puny little Cinderella, the daughter of my first wife, but she can't possibly become your bride". Then the Prince insists and finally Cinderella gets to try on the shoe and the birds tell him he has the right one. Cinderella and the Prince are married, and after the ceremony the birds peck out the step sisters eyes to punish them for their "wickedness and malice for the rest of their lives".
Hope that helps you out somehow! The guards accompany the prince to the house, so if you wanted you could follow the guards story from his seeing the girl run out each night and then what happens in the house with the step sisters.

The two guards stood sentry outside the Prince's Palace dressed in their finest dress uniforms. They sparkled like diamonds. The guests were due to arrive within the hour. 'Balls' said the first guard to the other, 'we have balls every three months, yet we never get inside'. 'No' replied the other 'the King's balls are far more beautiful than the Prince's - why does the Queen never hold any?'. He posed the question as the first carriage arrived. They both came to attention as the first guests disembarked from their carriage. 'What an ugly pair' the first guard spoke through his teeth to the other 'have you ever seen such a pair, they must be sisters'. As further guests arrived, neither of the guards could find a good word to say about any of them - until that is - a glass domed carriage pulled up. It was drawn by a team of the most fabulous white horses that they had ever seen. As the most beautiful young lady, either of them had ever seen stepped out of the carriage, neither could speak. They merely stared, and stared and stared.......... It was of course, the beautiful Cinderella herself............

What about the gaurds taking the evil stepsisters side? how about when Cinderella loses the glass slipper they try to hide it and keep the people from finding her true identity. That would mess up everything about Cinderella's happy ending.
