You could try putting it in a hamster ball. I once heard of a hamster accidentally falling down a flight of stairs in one of those things after the stairwell door was left open. XD
Another thing you can do, if you have the time, is mazes. Build some mazes, put the hamster in and see how fast it gets out. Run it through the same maze several times; it should remember the way out and do it faster each time.
Oh, and I've also seen someone put a hamster inside a cereal box, to see if it would chew its way out. It only worked after the hamster was given a small hole in the side of the box to start on. You could try that and see how fast it gets out.
