maybe you should sit down with her at a non-stressful time and explain to her that you want to date him?? but only if that is true. if you just want to chat with him and be friends explain that to her too. Tell her you aren't going to have sex and if you do tell her you will use birth control and a condom.

you never mentioned your age. or his. your mom is being protective of you because he is older. talk and be nice but don't get bent out of shape when she says no.
