gee, i didn't know you can put a time table on grief. a cousin of mine was killed back in1992 and i still cry to this day when i think about her. it means that you love and miss that person. i can think of better ways to try to get someone in a relationship. as far as being less of a man, that's nonsense! i'm a former boxer and current police officer and when something is sad to me, i cry. it means you're a human being and you have a heart. and i know i'm 100 percent a man!

Everyone grieves differently. Some deaths are never fully recovered from. My parents were married 27 years...it has now been 14 since my dad died. It is not unusual for one of us to still have an emotional response (maybe a little teary-eyed, lump in throat) if we talk about an especially moving memory of my dad, or talk about something we wish he'd lived to see--my mom included.

It sounds normal to me. My brother died on August 21, 1976. I can still get teary-eyed if the subject comes up. Losses like this don't go away. They hurt a little less as time passes, but they always hurt. If he gets teary around a close friend, it just means that they are close and he feels comfortable.
All the gratuitous phrases like "closure", "deal with", "get over" are uttered by people who have never lost anyone close.

His wife died soon after childbirth. You may move on with your life after someone has died but that does not necessarily mean that you won't think about them (or cry for them). It is quite possible for someone to grieve after a 5 year period. Different people handle death and emotional hurt in different ways. People should not judge the poor guy for the way he cries everytime he thinks about his deceased wife. Crying is probably his way of dealing with it.

No it means he has not fully gotten over his the lose of his wife and probably needs some grief counseling
maybe do not bring her up and be more sensitive
He probably loved her very much and probably feels guilty for thinking or trying to move on even when it is okay it is common and he really needs help to get passed it

My husband cries at movies so i do no longer agree that it rather is by no skill ok for a guy to cry. My father in regulation lost his dad, mom, and little sister in a airplane crash (his dad replaced into the pilot) and he nevertheless cries approximately it. So confident, this could be a extra physically powerful than appropriate reason to cry. i could anticipate every person to loose it in this occasion.

Most men wihsh they could cry to get the pain out. Obviously his daughter is a reminder of the events
Judge him on him. Of course, the teams must stop eventually to have any relationship

well, have to be honets here, i would be more concerned about the child who came into the world as her mom died that resentment could be aimed at her.
as for him getting teared up and the mentioning of his beloved departed wife, no to worry he just cared for her in ways most people don't seem to understand and and only wish for from their partners

That's an insensitive way to think about it.
He's crying because his wife died, not because he's trying to get someone in bed.

It probably just means he is an emotional person who loved his wife very much. Don't read things into it.
