My husband almost lost a job for not getting a supervisor of his to obey his order not to go into a warehouse while they were using a forklift. Yes, it's against safety laws and all that.

I am a truck driver and constantly have to go into warehouses on the dock ..,even if the sign says no unauthorized personnel we still have to unload our trucks or hire someone to do so..,as long as you watch where you are going you shouldnt worry about hurting someone.Accidents happen everyday at the work place and I am sure your supervisor is aware of people being on the dock.As long as you are careful and watch what you are doing.,I wouldnt worry about it.Are you a new worker at the warehouse..,if so might not be a good idea to start tattle tailing unless you want to keep the job.If there was a health risk involved I could understand it..,but a warehouse is a warehouse..,you have customers that come in to look at the facility right?Up to you.Thats just my personal opinion.

Visitors are obliged to wear a high viz vest in an area where forklifts are used. If they do not the warehouse owner could be prosecuted for breaking Health and Safety laws.

Non-authorised people?..Do you mean drivers?
Tell them to get the hell out of the warehouse!
I'm a driver and know the importance of taking notice of the signs. Usually, 'Forklift Area'.
You must be firm, ask them to remain either with the vehicle or report to GoodsIn/GoodsOut. Wandering people in a warehouse has serious security problems too.

see your own personnel manager, and ask them to clarify your role in this. Try to get them to give you a written answer, just explain your "inbetween" position. You are not directly responsinle for the safety of others, that specific role is given to someone else. Explain you are aware that the "ethos" (not a legal responsibility) of health and safety law is that everyone on a premises, guests, authorised/not, is "responsible" (not legally, but ethically) to ensure the health and safety, of, primarily "themselves", and "others", specifically, by "thier" actions (or omitions). Ie look out for yourself (dont rely soley on others having done thier job correctly) and be aware how what you do, leave around, effects others. Your duty is to tell, make aware, but not to every unautherised individual, but to your supervisor, or personnel, that this is generally "happening", and then, to get clarification, of your exact role, in implementing.
The primary thing here is to make someone else, aware, and to be given specific instruction yourself. (and record it).
Legally, nothing can happen to you by not doing so, as an individual.

if you are the fork lift driver you must sound your horn if people are coming into your area you must report it to there supervisor and senior management as this is very dangerous and is a breach of health and safety but at the end of the day you are the driver SO GET IT REPORTED

hi! i might want to point the counter stability truck. the following in Denmark it supplies the proper possibilities to detect a job. yet once you're taking a certificate the following, you may want to emphasise any fork raise truck you want to; all you want is a drivers license to a small vehicle (plus the truck, for sure). The attain-truck is protected in a 5 day course which includes all the different cutting-edge issues. I in no way said one. with the help of how: all fork raise vehicles are counterweight. sturdy success to boyfriend, Lars.
