I am from Boston. Never been to Ireland. Don't really have any relatives with any Irish folk music, I guess. My families a real melting pot, apparently. What are the best, I'd love to get to know the largest part of my families culture. Are there any Irish classical composers?

I only know one Irish classical composer: John Field (1782-1837). Regarded as the greatest Irish composer of the Romantic era, Field is especially credited as the inventor of the nocturne genre for the piano (he wrote about 18), which Chopin would later popularize. I hope this answers your question on Irish classical composers. However, I'm not sure whether Field's works can be considered a part of Irish "culture".

The wild rover is a good one. Famous rugby song actually.

The best really is Ireland's Call. Its the national anthem, but a great song as well.
