The function is f(x) =kx^3 - 8x^2 - x + 3k + 1 and it has a zero, 2.

Easy... if the zero is 2, then when x is 2 f(x) is 0, so it becomes 8k - 32 - 2 + 3k + 1 = 0 and then 11k = 33, so k is 3.

Any Italian 14 years old guy can solve that.

Plug in 2: 0= 8k -32 -2 +3k +1
