Any doctor in any state will OFFER testing for HIV and other STDs when you get pregnant, but patients can refuse them.

People fear that their insurance carriers will drop them if they test positive, so a lot of folks decline the tests...

I know NM does, and NY as well. Plus, all military bases do as well. As for other states, the best place to find out would be by asking you dr.

I agree though, it should be a mandatory test when finding out if you are pregnant.

I think it's probably offered everywhere. They really pushed for it at the Army clinic when I had my pregnancy test come out positive, but there was a form you had to sign to authorize it. I definitely see the up side in having them done. For those people, like me, who have been in a monogamous relationship for years and have tested negative before, it becomes somewhat of a hassle. I think they did test for other STD's though as standard procedure.

in case you probably did not signal a consent form you've been no longer examined for HIV, all different STDs do no longer require a consent form. the proper ingredient to do is, once you bypass for your next clinical specialist's appointment, ask to be examined for those products or if the outcomes are starting to be back yet. they do no longer frequently try for toxiplasmosis once you've a cat. that's believed that once you've been round cats plenty that you've already had it at one aspect or yet another and are resistant to it. besides the undeniable fact that, to be threat-free, do no longer change your cat's clutter and verify out to no longer get scratched with the help of any cats, by using the undeniable fact that's exceeded by fecal be counted and it would want to be of their claws by using clutter container.

In West Virginia, it is not mandatory. However if you are completing a cycle of In Vitro Fertilization, you must have the tests performed before they will proceed.

When you get pregnant, they usually give you a pap and do blood work for things like HIV and Herpes. Im sure it covers the majority of them, but thats where I live (CA) Im not sure about everywhere else.
