I took my son to the 99 Cent store because he had change and wanted to get a toy. I was waiting in line and this lady went all crazy because after the cashier scanned her green beans... she found out they were 99 cents! She was yelling at the cashier saying they were on sale! Why would anyone want 99 cents for a can of green beans! That she saw the sign and they were NOT 99 cents.

Thing is: there was no sign saying they were cheaper than 99 cents! She was telling this cashier off and then wanted her money back, when it says, NO REFUNDS. The cashier told the lady that she does NOT make the prices.

Have you ever done something like this? Do you think it is okay?

No but I worked for years as a cashier and a manager at convenience stores. It sucks when you have someone yelling at you for something that you didn't do, often though cashiers realize that when someone is having a bad day they will end up taking it out on them. Someone who is good at their job will be able to calm the person down and move on. You would not believe some of the things I have heard people yell at cashiers for.

it's not nice to make a scene in public like that. i've seen that sort've thing quite a few times. not too long ago, a lady in the supermarket line blasted the cashier for charging her 5 cents for shopping bags for her groceries. now mind you, this store has had this policy forever! everyone knows that you pay 5 cents for each bag you need. she cussed that cashier rotten stink! the cashier said that it wasn't her fault. she only works in the supermarket and could do nothing about the price of the bags. the lady bought the bags and continued to call the poor cashier and her mama every name in the book!! it was like watching a ghetto television show right before my eyes!!

Yes i have and it's not the cashier fault. but after that i did say to the cashier I'm sorry, and can i see the manager.on the other hand if the lady seen one price and it rings up another, she only wont to pay the price that's there.work to hard for the money. maybe she don't have it to give.

I am a cashier and have been for 30 years. I've had all sorts of complaints, too numorous to mention, people also say hurtful things about our weight our hair our age. It is all part of the job. We have to stay calm and pleasant!

I have a very simpel motto....don't ever make any cashier, waitress, or any other person who deals with the public mad, or pissed off...its hard enough to deal with the ppl all day long...

Why would she even pay for them if they were too much?

no, I have never done anything like that... I have just left my items on the register and left without paying.
