Blackspot is a fungal disease common on roses.

To treat: remove all affected leaves. Clean up and destroy dead leaves on ground. Spray foliage with 1 T. baking soda to a gallon of water. Repeat after rain.

To prevent: water roses on the ground, not on foliage.

I had the same problem last year. I found out that sometimes black spot is caused by watering the roses later in the day instead of early morning.
You will need to remove all of the spotted leaves and burn them and spray the roses and the ground around them. That should do the trick.

IF YOU HAVE BLACK SPOTS YOU WON'T KILL THE SPOTS BUT YOU CAN PREVENT IT. REMOVING THE LEAVES WITH BAD SPOTS WOULD BE A GOOD START. YOU MIGHT HAVE A FUNGUS OR DISEASE BUT WITH NO PHOTO IT WOULD BE HARD TO TELL YOU WHAT IT IS. YOUR EXTENSION AGENT OR GARDEN CENTER COULD HELP WITH THAT. GOOD LUCK...
