Is this a rhetorical question? You seem to have created your own version of reality from your perception of the "facts". Where did you find the "fact" that Republican's are poor spellers, what scientific fact did you base this on?
Secondly, when counting a specific number in any sort of polling there is a requirement to set a basis of guidelines in order to know what you are counting. If we were attempting to count the number of combatants killed in a zone we could just assume all people in that area that are dead are in fact combatants and just chalk up those numbers.
In this case they have decided to count only the numbers of people killed in specific ways, that way someone that dies of cancer, or being run over by a car do not get tossed into the frey as death's by sectarian violence. Think about it this way, the car bombings and mortar attacks have been going on since we won the fight in Baghdad, however the murdering and torturing has only been going on realistically since the destruction of the Mosque. Therefore that is generally assumed to be the flashpoint that really kicked off the so called "civil war". Therefore if you are attempting to slow down a specific activity you MUST be capable of measuring your affect on that activity. The car bombings are spikes as are mortar attacks into crowded area's. One mortar into a crowd can kill and wound several dozen as will a car bomb. Individual death squads on the contrary work to kill off individuals and intimidate the masses. That's the target, mortar's though a problem are hardly as effective as a hit team running down a road killing and torturing at their leisure. The key is to kill off these teams thus allowing local leaders to feel less intimidated. I am hoping you understand that but I doubt it since you prefer to live in the world where Bush is the master of all things evil.
Your conclusions are just off on this one, but I guess that's normal based on your education level, and the level of demonstrated critical thinking (probably around the jumping to conclusions level I would imagine). Oh and by the by, I am a registered Republican and I did not use spell check for this article. How did I do?

"United States is including in its tabulations of SECTARIAN violence only deaths of individuals killed in drive-by shootings or by torture and execution. " Those are the means by which Iraqui's kill one another--and have for years. Civilians killed by car bombs or mortar attack, which are directed at the military and NOT an action of SECTARIAN violence-is obviously tabulated in a different manner. Your sources? Your point?

Bun repuglicans have changed the way we count the unemployed in this country. They do not count the people that have run out of unemployment so they look better, it is all about looking good so that they can get some votes so it does not suprise me at all that they would juice the figures for their benifit.

...uh... the FACT IS .. .that no one knows the exact motivations for the car bombings and to compare them to cancer or getting hit by a car is retarded... as one person does... and then he insults your intelligence level? is he joking? I can't even tell because no one in their right mind would make that comparison?
and there were plenty of drive-bys and executions going on SINCE THE "WAR" ENDED IF YOU WATCH THE NEWS?
this is simple manipulation of the statistics... car bombs are not a normal activity and I think if you asked 10 people, 9 would say "of course it's part of it, that's a stupid question"
