The pain is mostly vaginal when the baby is crowning. You will also experience pelvic pain and pressure at that point. And yes it is very intense, enough to make it where you can't even walk or sometimes talk. Throughout pregnancy there are lots of other pains. Your ankles, your hips, your pelvis when there's pressure after the baby drops. Lots of discomforts. When your REAL contractions start, they should be timed evenly apart and get stronger as they get closer. When I say stronger I mean I was squatting on the floor trying to check into the hospital they were so strong. You will have back pain with the contractions that again, gets stronger. When your water breaks, you will feel the baby "come down" into your vaginal canal. Now, The pain level; like they say at the hospital, will probably go from a 5 to a 12. On a scale of 1-10. And at the hightened point of your labor, you will feel as if you 'can't do it' and you may even say so. But Do not dwell on that because even the strongest of us all will say that and our bodies give us no choice. When that baby decides she's ready, that's all there is to it and you will not be able to control it in the end. They will come along with the contractions no matter how hard you try not to push. And when it's all done and you hold that baby in your arms as they give you demeral for the pain, you will not htink about the amount of hell your body just went through. All you see and hear adn think about is that child and good it finally feels to hold them.

If you have natural childbirth without any medication it is going to hurt like hell, and you will live through it, and you'll be fine. For me the labor pains in the stomach and back (like really super bad menstrual cramps) were worse than the vaginal stretching. You don't have to go through natural childbirth. If you have an epidural, the pain is reduced to almost nothing. It's a personal choice. I've had three kids: one natural, one emergency c-section, and one vaginal with epidural. All kids are fine, I love them all the same, and the last two hurt a lot less than the first one. Talk things over with your doctor, make a preliminary decision, but leave things open to change so that when you are in labor you can make your final decision according to your situation.

Each pregnancy is different. It could be in your back, abdomen, etc. As for vaginal pain-the only thing I can remember is as the head is crowning, (coming out), there is a bit of pain like burning around the opening. You may talk with your doctor about an epadural-that helps take away the pain-really well. Please consider talking with your doctor about all of your questions. and take a childbirthing class-that will help as well. I was told a long time ago-the only stupid question is the one that is NOT asked. congratulations! the memory of the pain will go away after awhile-also-contractions can feel like cramping. Please relax and enjoy your pregnancy and the baby!

well sweety.. not to freek u out but giving birth is hell.. the vagainal pain "for me came after i gave birth "i'm a mother of 2 by the way".. but mostly the pain is in lower part..like how dose ie feel when u have like a stomech ache but its 10 times more hutrful.. so my advice when the time comes to deliver the baby u'll know when the contractions start .. so as soon as u feel like it's coming ..take a deeeeeeeeeeeeeep breath and when the pain starts try to exhail slowly ... and try not to scream , i know it'll hurt .. but think that all of it will be over and forgotten as soon as u see the baby... and another thing .. and it's realy importent .. when ur in ur 9th monthe of pregnensy WALK.. everyday.. not like a 5 min walk but at least 1 to 2 hours.. slow walks .. cz i've been there and i've done that.. and all this giving birth 4 me only took like 1 hour or maybe less..
don't be afraid .. u'll forget about the whole prosses .. hang in there.. and good luck.. and as soon as u hold ur baby give it a kiss from me plz....

The contractions feel like really strong period cramps and the actual pushing the baby out pain is lower back pain and a feeling of like you have to have a BM and it does hurt but the worse part for me is when the head crowned but once the head is out and crowns it is like everything else slides out. I just had my son 10 days ago and he made my 4th child and I only had an epidural with my first one and that was because she was premature and I couldnt take any of the other meds. but with the rest just IV meds and felt alot of it but is not all that bad once the babys here you forget all about the pain. But you can have the epidual and not feel anything. Good Luck!!!!!

I have had four children with no pain medication. Labor feels nothing like cramps to me. It is a dull ache inside that comes and goes. The pain is not constant, so you get a break. There is vaginal pain the last five minutes or so. I used Bradley method natural childbirth, which minimizes the pain. I have had hunger pains before that were worse than labor. Please check into the Bradley method; it really works.

Every one is different as is each pregnancy.
How much it hurts depends on if you have pain medication and the type that you get. As well as if you have had Lamaze. As to where it hurts it is lower ab and back sometimes down to you legs.
Don't psych yourself out! Early labor hurts like the worst cramps you've ever had but often you can still sleep through them!
Prepare yourself with lots of distractions! Magazines, baby name books, a good movie----- oh- and lots of Popsicles once you go to the hospital all they give you is ice chips!LOL!

Contractions feel like strong cramps. Mostly in your belly but some people feel them in their back or their legs too. (Baby's position has something to do with where/how you feel the contrax.)
There is a lot of pelvic pressure as the baby moves down.
The worst pain is actually crowning, which doesn't last all that long. Lots of stretching and burning. Thankfully, it should only last a few minutes at the most.

first off...knowledge is power. Once you have learned what is going to happen to your body it helps you to accept the pain as something your body needs and knows to do. The one thing that helped me ALOT. was when having a contraction, do the lamaze breathing and imagine the contraction as a mountian you are climbing. Expect it to go higher and higher and higher. Just like the contractions. Just when you think your gonna go even higher on that mountain, you start to come down. And that is the best feeling in the world. Good Luck!!!

I had to have a C-section with both of my kids, so I don't know about the pain, but you can talk to your Dr about it, and they can explain things to you. You can also get an epidural, or a spinal tap and that will cut out some of the pain for you. Good Luck to you, and congratulations on the baby to be
