It isn't anything too good, that's for sure!
A professional student is someone who has spent much more then the normal amount of time to complete their degree. Most people take 4-5 years, these people make a lifestyle out of taking one or two classes, failing a few, and never seem to be done. Most of them do not have jobs and rely on grants, loans and other federal money to pay the bills while they take their sweet old time!

A professional student goes to University full time, often earning multiple degrees. As you can often only get part time jobs or small stipends for graduate work, it isn't very lucrative. Once you are done being a professional stuident, hopefully you can get a lucrative job. One of the characters in Doonesbury (Spelling?) was a professional student.

A professional student is a person who has passed the required time to earn a BA and never finishes a degree but can spend yrs studying different majors without ever accomplishing anything. I knew a few when I was a college student. Right now, I know a woman who is 37 and who has been in college for almost 20 yrs. She has never finished any degree.

Negative... You'll be paying off your student loans with your social security checks! AND... if you're a home owner... the liens will come off the top of any inheritance you may hope to leave your offspring! My mother has 4 Master degrees including 2 different areas of the law and Psychology. Still in school... earth science now, I believe! Drives a '95 dodge pos and lives comfortably in her TRAILER! Good Luck!

I've known a few, they stay in university and change their majors whenever they are close to graduating. They pass the time well, enjoying the life of a student and taking on no responsibilities. They don't get paid in money, but then they don't really work either.

Only if you find someone to support you.
A professional student goes to school year after year and never gets a job. It's not a complement.
