Being in the military, the answer is a definitive yes. However, I have noticed the desire by people to uphold any one standard has diminished during the time that I have been in Army. This is sad and unfortunate and I think it directly links to our society as a whole; which attempts to appease all by melding everything into a commonality that can be accepted by all. Look at some of the key figures in history and you'll see people that set the standard high and refused to undermine it in any way. In my opinion, there aren't enough of those people around today. It is my hope that we as a country will see the decline in our society and come back around to raise our standards back up to an acceptable level in order to make life and the treatment of others much more pleasant.

Judging from the answers above, I think you need to be a little more specific.

Very little. And then it tends to be hysterical over control via religious "thought police."
