Guys at Best Buy work on a commission, of course he would try to sell you the higher priced product.
McAfee will do you just fine and that is a very very good price.
The built-in Windows firewall is junk, it only filters incoming packets not outgoing. Every other firewall will filter both.
Quick, run down and pick up the McAfee, while it is still on sale.
And I would report Best Buy to your state's Consumer Board. Putting something on sale and then trying to move you to a higher priced product is illegal...it's called "Bait and Switch"!

Wow no one here answers your question. Instead of buying McAfee or even Trend's antivirus for 40 bucks get Trend Micro Pc Cillin Internet SEcurity 2006. It is the best out there. McAfee and Norton are bloatware, CA and Zonealarm arent well known and are not as effective.

Norton kills resources. I mean, running in the background it will slow down your computer. McAffee will do the same. PCCillen is crap. does the same exact thing.
AVG is free and fast, and good, and it works..

but just use the built in windows firewall, it will be sufficient enough, the rest is just a waste of money.

Norton is the best. These stores sometimes have internal promotions and the employees have to sell so much of a certain product to make their quota. Stick with the tried and true. Norton is best. McAfee is good too. You get what you pay for. Don't skimp.
