The best way would be to replace it. If you choose not to do this, you should check to see if it is loose, and if so, tighten it. Also check to see if it is glazed or cracked. If so, replace it. The ultimate in quick fix is a product called Belt Lube, made by Permatex, sold in the auto parts store. It is a spray. spray it on when car is running.

rub it with some used motor oil or grease or wax....

You can try rubbing a bar of soap on it but you would probably be better off replacing it.

if you cant be bothered to replace it, oil it(motor oil). it may sound strange but it works. but use it sparingly. a little goes a long way
