synesthesia is when you see letters and numbers in different colours in your mind.

I recently watched a TV show about synesthesia. The people who had it were very artistic and credited synesthesia with helping unlock their creative potential. Their brains show connections in places normal brains do not, which could lead to sensory cross-communication. People who are on LSD also claim to be able to taste colors and feel numbers and stuff like that, so maybe people with synesthesia would also be more prone to hallucinations or some forms of mental illness. I don't think it would make someone more intelligent, but the way they perceive the world may be qualitatively different and probably pretty cool.

I'm not sure. I asked about synesthesia a few weeks ago and no one who answered mentioned anything about intelligence; they just said it was rare and that there are different types. Do you have this?

Not more intelligent.
Differently intelligent, maybe.

It is not always seeing numbers as colours - any of the senses could be invoked.

Their brains are just wired up in a particular way. They may have more creative insights at times - if they are creatively oriented.

I don't know about intelligence, but it would seem they are definitely more creative.
