I heard that. I want a pet one sometime soon! On a scale of 1-10 how soft? Is it softer than a teddy bear hamster?

Yes. I have never had a chinchilla nor teddy bear hamster so I really cannot answer that but yes, they do have very soft fur and probably a chin's is softer too! Hope you have a great time with your chinchilla.

yeah i had a white one he was so soft and beautiful. They kill thousands and thousands a year just so they can make those frickn coats. yes its softer than a teddy bear hamster.

well, it's soft, yes. they're kind of fluffy. i had one as a pet when i was young.
