yea had it loads of times on the front wheel drive transits, the bolt for the gear selection that is inside the gearbox works loose and then drops out and jams the box up and may throw the bolt through the casing.

The well-known way to kill a company Transit vans' clutch is to be lazy with the gearshifting, and let it slow down to well under 30mph in top, then floor the gas..! They really don't like it, I'm very reliably informed. Just pull at least 15mph per gear, and you shouldn't have any problems, i.e. 1st up to 15mph, 2nd up to 30mph, 3rd to 45 mph, 4th up to 60mph...

Yes , i work in a local taxi company and it is a problem with the high mileage minibuses we have , especially the transverse engine ( front wheel drive ones ) dont think ford are up to scratch on them yet as on a normal minibus/van they wouldnt have the milage that our buses have ! GET IT SORTED FORD !!!!

get it back to ford's, thats what the warranty is for!
only problem ive come across wth them is flywheel/clutch on high milers.
