To reach level 2 you must have 250 total points. If you drop below that you will again be on level one. You may answer and vote on 20 questions a day giving you 2 points and 1 point respectively. Once you reach level 2 you will be able to rate others with a thumbs up or down but you will receive no points for that. You will get nothing but your own satisfaction for reaching the next level and helping others in the process.

Points and levels help you keep tabs on how active you (and others) are on Yahoo! Answers. You get points for different types of actions, like answering a question. The more points you get, the higher your level.
You need 250 pts to get to level 2 and the best way to earn points is by answering questions and if you want to get quicker to an upper level, you better answer a question as best as you can so you can possibly be chosen as the best answer be given 10 points.
You can also vote for a best answer by clicking the "Discover" tab at the top which will give you 1 pt.
Keep in mind, asking a question costs 5 pts, but when you choose a best answer to your question, 3 points will be given back, so you basically lose 2 pts.

to get to level 2 you answer questions and get 2 points or 10 if picked as best answer you need 250 pionts. but dont ask questions or you will lose 5 pionts.

Keep answering questions. Try to use up your limit each day. Eventually you will earn enough points. And for 1 point extra, be sure to vote for the best answers to questions! You'll be at 250 points in no time!

Answer a lot of questions and if you have some of these as Best ones, you can reach Level 2 (approx 300 points ) faster.

you have to answer the questions not ask them as you lose points by asking, my daughter is always complaining that she cant get past level one but she is always asking questions.

answer as many questions as you can with some good answers, if you get picked for a best answer you get an extra 10 points.
