I saw this movie called "Billy Elliott", and the main character kept referring to his childhood friend as a "puff". I thought the term was so cute, but it being an English term, I didn't know if that was the official word they used to describe gay males, and if people over there took offense to it. It wasn't made clear in the movie. It was a very good movie, though.

Here in Australia both cigarettes and gay people are called fags. You can usually tell from the context which it is.

nicely, the term is for the two women and adult men, notwithstanding this is used specifically for adult men. as an occasion, some LGBT web pages have the "gay section" and the "lesbian section" to differentiate between sections for gay adult men and sections for gay women. in my view, i've got continuously hated to be referred to as a lesbian, because of the fact it jogs my memory of how this is linked with porn and how adult men think of of gay women. I prefare gay. yet my friends do no longer recommendations it. some even hate to be referred to as gay and prefer the term lesbian. i assume it relies upon on the guy and how she perspectives issues.
