It's bad enough that their riding on the sidewalk instead of the street. They're riding fast. You probably don't see or hear them because of traffic. Also the same people don't pay attention to the light. You can get hit by crossing on a green light. They often get angry if you say anything. I guess I'm asking for trouble with this question.

You're absolutely right i've lost count of the times i've nearly been hit by a cyclist on the sidewalk because you cant hear them.
As for the lights,a few years ago when i was going to work sitting in rush hour traffic acyclist who was being a pain to every one weaving in and out and causing cars to have to stop for him thought he'd be clever by jumping the lights at the intersection.....he did'nt make it,it's amazing how far a fat person can fly,he survived though. none of us drivers laughed.....HONESTLY.

I wholeheartedly agree, some bicyclists can be rude at times.

However as an experienced bicyclist myself, I do my best not to

frighten pedestrians and drivers. Yes, I do have the tight bike shirt

and the shorts, which I think is pretty HOT and HILARIOUS. Not

all bicyclists are jerks, as with motorists, or pedestrians. Please

don't categorize. However, some people do deserve a lesson.

Yes, some bicyclists are jerks (and most aren't aware of their

mistakes, as with motorists, or pedestrians). Also, bicyclists

receive unwanted flack because of a few bad seeds, and a few

categorizing minds. But pay attention, and be weary.

P.S. I always slow down, and say,"I'm on your right/left." It works

great!

In most cities, county's and states it's against the law. They have to obey all traffic laws as if they were driving a car. If you can identify them turn them in before they hurt someone. Or ask your local police to keep an eye out in your neighborhood for the offenders. I'll bet it's just a few idiots who enjoy scarring people.

some drivers today are reckless, riding on the street can get you knocked down esp where the bike lane is not marked....

Bikes are permitted to use the sidewalk too.... traffic lights are intended for motorists and not cyclists.....

Unless the cyclists runs on you in the sidewalk, I dont see anything wrong with passing you and riding there..... Most bikes dont come with bells... Since most cyclists do not own cars and have to be at work on time, then they try to pedal faster causing annoyance.... Please calm down....

Yes, it is disgusting. Oft times I see elderly people walking and they do not always see the bicycle in time...There are laws against it but no one is willing to turn the people into the authorities

It bothers me that no one uses courtesy anymore. That is why you use the bell-to warn pedestrians you're coming.
