I just read a question asking which race has it the hardest and a lot answers were from white people saying white people have had it the hardest. Okay, I must be missing something because I'm white and I've never really had any struggles or have had to deal with anything hard, I'm not even rich, I'm middle class. A lot of the answers were saying that white people get called racist a lot. Well that's never happened to me and if you do get called a racist you probably are and just don't know it. I guess my point is, I don't think white people have the right to complain having it the hardest, because it's not true, we don't have it the hardest. I know my story isn't the same as everyone else's but I'm talking about white people in general.

Here's the question that was asked:

Good question. If we're looking into history, we should start with ancient Europe. The Moors, whom were dark skinned, came into Europe and conquered much land, giving misery to the whites there until they pushed them out a few hundred years afterwards. Then there are the Russians who've had problems, revolutions, communism, etc. to give those whites a hard time. Then there's the Brits and the Irish. The Irish endured terrible times over and over again under the Brits. Also the Middle ages brought about many wars between the countries of Europe. As for here in America, sure the Europeans took over much, but there descendants and other immigrants had to put up with a lot of crap with labor laws, racism between their own cultures, etc.
Seems that whites have had their fair share of crap throughout history. No wonder they're angry wannabee conquerors.
Most whites, like many other groups, don't want to be disrupted from their routines of life. It's always a small group that screws it up for many.

You're so right. I'm part white and part black, and I grew up in a neighborhood that is mostly black. It's a poor neighborhood. Not much money, terrible schools with impatient teachers, and so much crime. If there were things necessary forr learning and living out here, everything might be okay. I think every race experiences a lot of racism, but the most racism goes to blacks, I must say. I notice that when I go out to the better neighborhoods, like when I moved to New Jersey, there were a lot fo white people living out there, living the life and had not a care in the world. They had worse jobs than some black people I know, so why were they living so much better? And white people say they experience the most racism? I think they know the truth, but they say that because they're offended, or defensive... It's really immature, in my opinion. Just face the truth. I wish everyone could walk in other's shoes, so there would be no racism, and we could all understand...

As a kid you are taught in school and TV that you are evil because of colonialism, slavery and the treatment of native americans. That you have no culture. If you were unfortunate to be white in a mostly non white school you experience racism all day along with your non white teachers joining in on it.(experience)

Once you finish high school and move on to a trade school or college, you need money ofcourse but you can't get grants or aid from the government because they give them mainly to minorities, you can't get into the college you want because they need more minorities.

Then you were lucky to finish school and now looking for a job that pays a livable wage. you go to several interviews, you are very much qualified but because you are white they don't hire you because they have to hire more minorities. This is affirmative action

Finally you get a good job because quotas were met on minorities ofcourse you find theres only 10 white co workers, the rest being many other races. Then your manager retires and you apply for the manager exam. You take it and pass completely but because you are white they don't give you the job but give it to a black guy with no experience and simply answered an ad. Hes now the manager and fires you and all your white co workers so he can get rid of whitey and replace you with his friends.(experience) Thats affirmative action

Now you are unemployed and go turn on the comedy central to relax hoping comedy will cheer you up. Instead you have some obese black comedian saying "HONKEYYYYY, CRACKAHHHHH, WHITE GIRLS HAVE NO BOOTTYYYY, I WANT REPERATIONSSSS"

You will understand as you get older, it took me some time to figure it out myself

If you mean TODAY, when all races seem to live everywhere, it is probably easiest to be white -- that is, unless you are in Asia or Africa or the Middle East.

However, if you are talking about recorded history, consider the Plague, the Inquisition, or for that matter, the World Wars.

Remember too that some people think that racism is "when white people don't like non-white people." But there is a LOAD of racism in the black and hispanic communities that is never mentioned.

For starters, the Irish had a very hard time when they first immigrated to America. As did a lot of different groups and ethnic backgrounds. The Irish fought hard to become accepted and took jobs that no one else wanted such as police and fire fighters. Seems everyone has to pay their dues and go through hazing to become a part of mainstream America. A lesson to be learned by other groups who refuse to become part of the solution and insist upon staying part of the problem.
My ancestors struggled, as did many, for their place and position in society and it was not easy. Oppression is not limited to the color of ones skin and whites have had their share of oppression. And women have always been oppressed, so I beg to differ when someone tells me I couldn't possibly know what oppression is, I am a woman, I see and feel oppression each and every day. Makes no difference that I am white, I am judged by my gender far more often than by the color of my skin. Peace.

I assume you mean historically. This is probably an impossible question to answer. Every group of people, regardless of how you divide and categorize, thinks they have had it the hardest.

I'm caucasian but I've had a relatively easy life because I am fairly capable and flexible and can take on new challenges easily. If some group of people claim to have had it hard, I have to question what their abilities and capabilities are that make it so difficult. That is not the only important question but it is one of them.

Whites are not all born with a silver spoon in their mouth.Try coming from a poor Irish catholic family with 11 children. No money for school or any thing else. All my family has ever known is hardwork and more hard work.If you want to get a head you need a hand up but where is the hand up?Some people have a sense of pride and would rather work in a coal mine then take charity or welfare but how are poor whites with no great talents in sports or music to get ahead?I dont know I just keep working and know one day Ill probably drop dead from all the bad air where i work.

Och, what a question. One worth asking though. History reminds us of those who have ridden rough-shod over others. Those who are disenfranchised lose (almost) everytime and that's not necessarily dictated by skin colour (often is). Your statement, "... if you do get called a racist you probably are and just don't know it." is true and nearly poetry.
Hope you get a better answer than this.
