I've been living in the US for about 3 years (I started high school here in the beginning of my sophomore year) and someone once told me that the Theory of Evolution is not taught in US schools. Is it true though? & if it is indeed true, why is it?

It is taught as "theory" in some schools depending on where you live. Some communities are more conservative than others. When I went to school this was taught only as the Scopes Monkey Trials. Students were left to make their own conclusions. A lot depends on the instructors and their views as well. American children are pretty much exposed to this "theory" tho and are well aware that it exists in spite of controversy to suppress this. The exceptions are homeschooled children whose parents wish to program them to know only what they want them to know. The ultimate censorship.

I keep in mind interpreting someplace, (in a superb British newspaper i think of,) that some American college in the "Bible Belt" refused to coach Darwin's thought of Evolution. They claimed it became into heresy and that that the Bible tells the only actual tale of mankind's evolution.

Public schools, I believe, are required to teach evolution.

It's taught in my school because I go to a public one. I'm not for censorship anyway.

Natural biological evolution fails at all levels except for those species numbering more than about one quadrillion individuals with generation times less than three months and body sizes smaller than one centimeter.
