"ABC tinkers with 9/11 drama" is an article on Yahoo! News. ABC is going to edit parts of the miniseries "The Path to 9/11 because of Clinton Administration pressure because they don't like the way they are portrayed in the show. I'm disappointed but not surprised.

How anyone could think that the President SHOULDN'T address the nation on Monday's anniversary should be surprising, but it isn't. I guess I'm becoming more and more jaded. I'm glad, though, that only one person thinks the government controls the media.

I think the reason it is being "tinkered" with is because this is a drama, and clearly some of the "facts" in the film are erroneous and could be libelous and damaging to some people's reputations who might consider suing. As any reasonable person would probably do, not just because they are "powerful people".

A better question might be: who's surprised with, "Further complicating the situation for ABC was a prime-time address to the nation President George W. Bush has planned for 9 p.m. EDT on Monday to mark the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, right in the middle of part two of ABC's miniseries. The network said it would air the first hour of the film, break for 20 minutes to carry Bush's speech live, then broadcast the rest of the movie."

With mid-term elections coming up soon, and several Republicans in danger of losing their seats in the House (and possibly the Senate), it was necesssary to put some emotional and fictional spin on the events of September 11th, 2001.

After all--it's been hard to convince intelligent people that the real culprit for the terrorist attacks should be the Democrats.

So why not use the miracle of TV to convince the masses that the current administration isn't to blame at all? Get
'em out to vote for those good Republicans who will keep us safe from terrorists.

It's good to hear that saner heads have prevailed and the show has been re-cut to more closely resemble the truth. But there's still danger in presenting anything like this in such a way that people think it's a documentary. And that IS the network's intent.

Putting the Bush address in the middle is the creepiest and most blatant attempt at propaganda that I've seen lately.

I have read quite a bit about this miniseries and what is portrayed as being shown as a docudrama is inaccurate. Some books and article I read prove that Clinton was not all that negligent. See Steven Coll's latest book, Ghost Wars. Also is was not just the Clinton people what have influenced ABC. ABC is under fire from the Democratic Congress, ACLU, Americans for Progress, columnists and modern historians who take exception with the inaccuracies. Even many on the right take exception because of the inaccuracies.

Same thing happened with the Reagan movie...
Republicans went BALLISTIC on it not being
a true fact soap opera movie on "Saint Ronnie"

WHY IS IT ONLY OK WHEN
REPUBLICANS GO BALLISTIC
AND CRY FOUL?

The right-wingers had a fit ...
CBS airing a movie about Reagan
not made by Reagan lovers.
CBS cancelled it.

an extraordinary conservative furor over a movie virtually no one has seen ... CBS pulls Reagan miniseries

Sources close to the production said Monday CBS is considering canceling the docudrama, slated to air Nov. 16 and 18, under mounting criticism from political conservatives that the two-part series unfairly depicts Reagan and his wife

Capping an extraordinary conservative furor over a movie virtually no one has seen, CBS said Tuesday it will not air "The Reagans"

CBS is being accused of caving to political pressure, in deciding not to air a two-part movie about Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

Funny how all the straight, unbiased people run to Clinton's aid, but not much of an outcry for Fahrenheit 9/11's blatant lies and creative editing.

No surprise there at all. Wee Willy still has a lot of political connections and with wife Hillary possibly running for President of the U.S.A. there's no way that they would allow ABC to run it unedited. Actually I'm surprised that it still may be run on TV.

No. Media is run by the senate. Although we are supposed to have freedom of speech, if the government doesn't like what is being said, or how it is portrayed, the media will most likely change it. It is unfortunate, but true. CNN is ripe with American "propoganda".

Apparently, the Clinton entourage are "running scared" about the ensuing film. If ABC edits it because "Dingy Harry" (Harry Reid) whines, then my confidence in ABC will plummet!

I'll bet you 10 to 1 it's all a bunch of Illuminati propaganda anyway, designed to deceive people into believing their lies.
