I'd love to be Pippi from Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren!!! This is a wonderful children's book!!! Pippi is a very strong and extaordinary young child who lives alone in a big house. Hee mother is an angel, and her father is an African king. Pippi lives an adventurous live and always tries to rectify the wrongs of the world. She has carrot-red hair and wears it in two big brides :))) I love her so much, because she is very positive and spontaneous! She always does what she wants and she's very free-spirited!

The life that Lieutenant Dunbar, U.S. Cavalry, lived with the Comanche in "Dances with Wolves."

In the movie, the Nation represented were the Lakota because the film makers needed bison hunts. No known buffalo herds exist on the southern plains of Texas, the home of the Comanche.

Going from the familiar into a life of nomadic warfare, but strong family values within a culture feared by most whites must have been a challenging step.

Aragorn, son of Arathorn.

Why? Because he was always my favourite character in the Lord of the Rings, and he did get to marry Arwen Evenstar in the end, a chance which one should hardly pass up.

Rue Meridian in Terry Brook's Jerle Shannara series, or Magiere in Dhampir.

Dagny Taggart (from "Atlas Shrugged") without a doubt. She kicked some serious @$$ on a couple of levels: she was good-looking, highly intelligent, efficient, hard-working, ambitious- she had it together. And she had some good romantic relationships with some hot men (who were also cream of the crop- same qualities as her), even if some circumstances were somewhat 'scandalous.' She rocked hard! :)

Eve Dallas from the JD Robb, In Death series. If you could be a crack NY Homicide Detective, in the near future, married to a gorgeous man who owned half the planet and then some, and who loved you to distraction, why wouldn't you?

so many of my favourite books have characters that have to suffer dreadful events i'm not sure i'd enjoy being them to be honest....but something like the life of miss marple i think would be great.....no stress or worries about her own life just time and means to investigate complex murders in gentile surroundings....that'll do nicely

Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. She's really smart, is in love with a redhead (redheads are the best!) and she's a witch. I would love to do magic!
