Get Registry Mechanic v5.2

Registry Mechanic is an advanced registry cleaner for Windows that allows you to safely clean and repair registry problems with a few simple mouse clicks. Problems with the Windows Registry are a common cause of Windows crashes and error messages. By using a registry cleaner regularly, your system should not only be more stable but also your software should run faster. Registry Mechanic uses a high-performance detection algorithm to quickly identify missing and invalid references in your Windows Registry. These problems can occur for many reasons, including references being left behind after uninstallation; incorrect removal of software; missing or corrupt hardware drivers; or orphaned start-up programs. With a few easy steps, Registry Mechanic will scan your entire registry for any invalid entries and provide a list of the errors found. You can then choose to clean each item or automatically repair them all after making a backup.

There are a number of ways to identify and fix registry keys. Using Windows own registry editor is convenient but is not for the timid and is more suited for the computer savvy. You can use a third party registry editor/ cleaner, some which are free and others you need to buy.

The best free registry cleaner I have come across is CCleaner (a.k.a Crap Cleaner), while the best commercial registry cleaner I have used is TuneUp Utilities 2006.

1. CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/

"Registry cleaner
Advanced features to remove unused and old entries, including File Extensions, ActiveX Controls, ClassIDs, ProgIDs, Uninstallers, Shared DLLs, Fonts, Help Files, Application Paths, Icons, Invalid Shortcuts and more... also comes with a comprehensive backup feature."

2. TuneUp Utilties 2006 http://www.tune-up.com/

"Another useful tool is TuneUp RegistryCleaner, which finds and solves problems caused by invalid entries, references and links in the Windows registry." (comes with a 30 day trial)

Below you will find some articles explaining the use and maintenance of Windows registry:

if it truly is speaking about classes you've deleted then you definately are not from now on uninstalling them precise, you may want to objective this to stay away from mistakes like this which reason the registry to get cluttered up and make the laptop plenty slower, no longer to practice all the stressful mistakes messages. besides you may want to bypass to the advert/eliminate classes software contained in the administration panel, in no way basically discover the listing or "folder" in my laptop and basically instantly delete it or something, it truly is not any longer the way it truly works. yet convinced that would want to fix it, yet shop in ideas, your registry is an significant area of your operating device, in case you mess it up it may decrease to rubble various stuff.
