The orchestra starts playing and they're STILL flapping their jaws thanking their accountants and housekeepers!! Ridiculous. Some people in Hollywood just can't keep their own egos in check. Very annoying to listen to winners who've won an Oscar or Emmy eight times before blather on and on witlessly.

They should... you're absolutely right... they think that what they have to say is sooooooooooooooo important... for Pete's sake, they're actors!

even though i know there is a "time limit" on acceptance speeches in the essence of keeping the show running on time ~ it still is a HUGE honor to win an Oscar or Emmy award ... it is the industry you work in telling you that you are the BEST! the stars get excited and want to remember to thank everyone .... and sometimes they just get a little wordy ...
i say let them have their say .... it may be their one and only time to be on that stage accepting that award!!

Let the awards winners have their say - cut out the meaningless crap in the shows like little comedic skits, comedic dialogue and singers and bands performing - all that matters is who has been nominated and who wins - give them their time!
